Today is my first day at the Royal Academy.
I plan to commute by carriage from the duke’s mansion in the capital.
However, dormitories are also provided for students coming from afar.
A designated area for parking carriages is provided on the vast grounds.
You hear stories about students arriving right at the main gate in their carriages, stepping out to immediate attention from everyone… but honestly, that just seems like a hassle.
It’d be fine if only this weren’t the Royal carriage, though.
From the parking lot — or rather, the carriage drop-off — we walk to the school buildings.
Carriages that drop off students generally leave promptly.
You can bet the arrival and departure times will be crowded.
In the capital city, there’s a cluster of residences for nobles who own estates or main houses in the provinces, used when they have business in the capital.
The Marlotte Duke’s residence occupies a separate section, spanning an entire district of the capital.
Of course, we also have a manor on our estate, where I was staying until just the other day.
The carriages bringing students to the academy mainly come from that district.
So, the route I take is just a little less crowded than the others.
