[Lady Rose wants to be a commoner] Ch 24 – Mel’s visit

*Hi, all!

I started on April 15 translating this novel, because it was abandoned … and I knew it was interesting … Chapters 26 and 27 are already available on Patreon.

You can find up to chapter 24 on google, let me know if you need help finding the links 😀

After they finally left, I fell into a futon after being exhausted by the sudden visit.

I’m still a commoner. However, I feel like I am being surrounded by the nobility again. The world which I wanted to escape from.

When I had come this far, I suddenly feel that some sort of force, is trying to return everything to its original path.

It may be that changing one’s fate is not easy.

While being sentimental, I heard a violent knock on the door that could easily break it, and I was forced out of the futon.

Is this violent sound a new unwelcomed guest? Or a returning visitor? What did they forget now?

Nora is the only one who comes to mind, knocking in such a rude manner and creating a ruckus. Or… maybe it’s a thug aiming at a woman that lives alone?

Nahh… it’s not possible.

I opened the door lazily.

“Wow … Is it okay for you to open without checking who is the other person?”

That voice sounded familiar, yet unexpected.

I opened my eyes to a white-haired, red-eyed, boy. He stunned looked at me from head to toe and sighs again.

“Oh, I just came back from work and couldn’t prepare … I’m tired and want to rest so please, leave.”

Then, I hurriedly pulled my arm into the house and closed the door. But the three escorts slid inside the house already.

“Good evening”

“Leave. I don’t need any salutations.”

“I guess the reason for you coming today was to inform me in advance of the visit of the already departed guest. It’s no wonder “

“Oh yes, that’s right. That’s a great answer. “

I hugged his arm and stopped him with a smile. Mel looked at me disgustingly and peeled off my arm roughly.

This child really hated me. His appearance is of a pretty beauty but nonetheless… there was no shyness of a delicate beauty.

Well, it doesn’t matter. I coughed, and forced my eyes away from him with a serious face.

“Why did you try to tell me? I thought you were the happiest that I had leave the house.”

“Don’t think so much, it’s just a visit.”

He speaks bluntly. It’s not a lie. I don’t understand. We are not close for him to visit me.

“… Why do you visit me? “

Mel looked away with no expression.

“What do you think?”

He answered with a question.

“I don’t know at all …”

“Really?”

“Yeah, let’s forget it, I’ll stuff my mouth with bread and you do as you like …”

“What? Are you not afraid that I’ll touch something I mustn’t?”

Mel backed away from me.

I involuntarily exhaled at Mel-chan, who looked at me amazed and examined me as if my actions were strange.

“Well, if you would still like me with this kind of attitude, I can only imagine that it’s fate …”

Mel-chan didn’t understand the meaning of my words. No wonder. Mel doesn’t know the present and the future of this story. If I had followed exactly Mel-chan’s route, he might have already fallen in love with me.

“Huh … I don’t know anything, but don’t worry, no matter how beautiful you are, I won’t fall in love with you.”

“Yes, that’s good.”

“You shouldn’t laugh happily … “

Mel creepingly wrinkled his eyebrows, as I grabbed his arm again in a hurry and sat him in the floor.

“I’m sorry, I’m brewing tea, so wait a little”

As I took him to the table, Mel-chan sat reluctantly with a stunned face.

I am relieved and start brewing tea in the kitchen. Black tea needs time to steam, so you can’t just brew it.

“Strangely… I don’t seem to want you to go far away from me.”

“…”

The words hung on my back were completely inaudible to me, who was focused on making delicious tea.

A few minutes later, the resulting tea is presented to Mel-chan with three pieces of sugar cubes, and I also sit with a cup in front of Mel-chan.

He took a sip and relaxed.

“You’re full of lies and secrets, so I’m only talking to you because I can’t leave you alone to a certain extent. I don’t know why, though.”

He realizes what was said and stopped himself, feeling shy. Yes, Mel was also a smart person.

What is this uncomfortable air doing here? Is this the day for deceptions …?

“Why don’t you talk to Nicholas?”

The bread got stuck in my throat at the sudden question.

Why are you talking about Nika right now?

Since he has almost no facial expressions, he continues to talk without a care of the world.

“Rather than living this way, relying on that person would be more useful for you, and that person might help you while respecting your wishes.”

I looked away because I understood him but at the same time, I know many things that could make this seemingly good choice become bad, very bad.

Still, it’s natural for Mel, a childhood friend of Nika, to give her advice directed at complying with Nika’s wishes. I know that.

“… maybe, maybe.”

If I’m cornered, it may be the correct answer to follow the powerful whishes whatever the result. But I don’t want to talk to Nika.

“Well, it’s your selfishness that left you in this state.”

I can’t be spoiled.

I also want to erase the fact that I was nervous and careless to Nika-sama because of my illness the other day.

Because I want to be a commoner and live as a commoner.

Above all, I want to rewrite this story …More than anything.

He ridiculed me, saying I wasn’t going to be happy like this.

I don’t care… Who can have the truth about this?
