I started on April 15 translating this novel, because it was abandoned … and I knew it was interesting … Chapters 26 and 27 are already available on Patreon.

After they finally left, I fell into a futon after being exhausted by the sudden visit.

I’m still a commoner. However, I feel like I am being surrounded by the nobility again. The world which I wanted to escape from.

When I had come this far, I suddenly feel that some sort of force, is trying to return everything to its original path.

It may be that changing one’s fate is not easy. 

While being sentimental, I heard a violent knock on the door that could easily break it, and I was forced out of the futon.

Is this violent sound a new unwelcomed guest? Or a returning visitor? What did they forget now?

Nora is the only one who comes to mind, knocking in such a rude manner and creating a ruckus. Or… maybe it’s a thug aiming at a woman that lives alone?

Immediately, one item was exhibited.

“This is a necklace with jewels that is said to be the tears of a mermaid. Please start from five gold coins.”

The participants raise objects like tags one after another.

“What is that?”

“It’s a paddle.”

Ernesto handed Bernard a number tag called a paddle.

“This is the tea ceremony room in the south.”
“Thank you, Beth”
Opal, guided by Beth into the room, breathed a little.
The entire south wall is covered with glass except for the window frame, and it is very bright and clear like the day, it gives an illusion that you are outdoors.
Probably because of the green wall color.
And there were two sitting sets in the room, the fabric of the chair and the desk were white, and it felt very good.
With some windows open, a refreshing breeze comes in.
Opal sighed at the sight of this wonderful room.
Stella was sitting there in her wheelchair with her eyes closed.
“I’m sorry, did I bother you?”
Opal knew that she wasn’t asleep, so she approached her.
Then, looking at the face of the person who made her life green, Opal thought that it gave… a strange subtle feeling… like it was… not real…

The Count’s castle is large.
I walked down the endless corridor and finally went outdoors. However, the scenery is different from when I came in, you can say that this is the opposite gate, the courtyard of the castle.
There was a building behind the garden. It is circular with white walls and is about the size of a common house.
When Mio’s back opens the door, I’m wrapped in white smoke.
……steam? Behind, there’s something that looks like a pond but is hard to see with the smoke.
“Maybe I can take a bath here?”
Great, water and firewood! My family, the Sharon’s will use fuel in the most extreme cold days in winter.
As soon as I thought about it, I understood its use.
That’s right. I finally understood why I was brought here.

[The duchess of the attic] Ch 7. The Attic

Sometimes it’s harder to post than to translate, sorry the delay !! =(

Eight days after Opal moved to the attic.

Just after waking up, she stretched greatly, very relaxed.

(At first, this wooden bed was hard to sleep in and I couldn’t sleep well, but I’m used to it now.)

The servants have begun to move up and down outside of the room, thinking she’ll never approach Stelle nor Hubert, and just because of this, they treat her as if she were invisible, but they still answer her calls as it should.

(The first day in the attic, I went downstairs in the afternoon and talked to one of the servants, but it ended being a pretty frightening experience.)
